It's coming up to my 5 month marker in Georgia. I've moved from my sublet off of Easy Street in Normaltown, out to a 2000 square foot warehouse and artist workspace in Pulaski Heights. This space used to be a horse stable in the 1800's, a cookie factory and bakery in the early 1900's, and home to a famous Rumi translator in the later era of the 20th century. Its chocked full of history and ghosts, and Athens such a catalyst of great memories. I spend my days painting, and walking through the forest to my sisters house and out down the lane to downtown where I spend my days sweating in a restaurant to make ends meet.
Its a good life. Hard, but good.
Today is another installment from the Sleepyhead Radio sessions of "Loveless Letters", where I infuse recorded moments of time in specific locations and attach them to ambient, drone, and slow chilled out tracks. This session, is focused around Georgia. You will hear sounds from the Atlanta transit trains, to the sounds of Athens (cicadas, rain, industrial trains, fireworks, laughing, and random musicians playing on their porch. Its a magical place, .. a place I'm proud to be from despite the stigma of southern living.
