Hello Audio Lovers,
It's the 2nd session of Mojave, a set all about luscious ethereal down tempo sounds intermixed with western blurry guitar riffs. I decided to focus this around the recent intense summer weather out here in Las Vegas... particularly right now, which is what the locals call "monsoon season".
I hadn't heard anything about this season until a few weeks ago, when the clouds started coming in. These are some of the most intense clouds I have ever seen.. and when the rain comes down, the whole city floods because there is no where for the rain to go.
When the rain lets off, I take my car out to the outskirts of the desert out near Boulder City, and hang out near Lake Mead, park my car near this cliff and watch the summer thunderheads light up the desert landscape with lightning.
As my time with my art residency comes to a close out here in Las Vegas, I'll remember these weirdly beautiful and yet incredibly isolating times out here in the Mojave desert. This set is kind of an encapsulating mixtape of these times, and go over the wavering arid heat, storm clouds, and isolation of my time out here in Las Vegas.
