The heat is rising in the desert, and with that comes the windy hot nights in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm nearing the center of my art residency out here in the desert and my feelings about this city grow in strange waves. The days are brutally hot, and I become lethargic and listless... but as the sun sets here, and the city lights shimmer across the valley, I feel completely revitalized and in love with it here.
It's perplexing though. Even though I am in a city out here, it feels so similar to being in the middle of nowhere. The districts and communities are so sparse, that its quite difficult to connect out here. In these times where I feel a little lost, I return to music to find my head and sanity. I also have returned to those nostalgic memories where I felt so immersed with my romantic past... And this is where this set stems from. More specifically this set is dedicated to someone incredibly dear to me, a gentleman by the name of Matt Van Horn, who always made me feel quite wonderful when we were entangled together out in San Francisco, California.
So.. when I'm in a funk, and I feel that happiness is so far away,... he comes floating back around my heart and my place in the world finds vacancy again. Please enjoy this set music lovers.
