Hello Audio Lovers,
Its been years since I've done a Trip Hop Scotch session for the show, and what better time to throw some urban downtempo grittiness your way, than today. This week in Las Vegas the skies are turbulent and moody. At night while I drive along the neon path from downtown to the burbs off St. Rose and Seven I listen to these tracks.
2 years ago I fell in love with the broken sectors of this city. It reminds me of the Tenderloin in SF, the Central District in Seattle, and East Hollywood out in Los Angeles. I have a huge attachment to these areas for one reason... and thats that I feel the most alive in the areas that need the most repair. I remember the city session for Las Vegas that I did in 2012, and those feelings still linger.
I feel that this is the best set to fully communicate my conversations on desolation and the slow repairs of this city. You can feel it in the air, the slow clockwork of promise and progression out here... and while I finish my year residency out here, I full intend to immerse myself in the glow of this city's uprising.
Check out the Blues Alley track as well as the best trip hop mash up of Portishead and Massive Attack together. Its a great session, and I hope you enjoy.
Until Next Week,
