Loveless FM + The Beautiful Noise Broadcast

Howdy BNB'ers,

A few weeks ago I was driving east on the 210 to the desert for an art production job out in the desert. I was setting up pop up galleries at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs for the upcoming traffic of Coachella. It was my first time out there, but ... certainly not my first time to the desert. I became heavily addicted to the arid climate and scenery of the desert when Nina Grey introduced me to her place out in Orondo Washington. Weekend upon weekend I found myself hurrily driving my indestructible ancient Ford Escort over Steven's Pass Mountain Range to the quiet mountainous desert range of Washington. It was one of the most beautiful places I had stayed in, and even to this day I think about that place.

This was probably why I was so excited to be in Palm Springs, because I was imagining it to be my "Orondo". I drove through a gigantic desert storm. The clouds were cold and black and the rain was so intense that I couldn't see five feet in front of me. Cars were sloshing and sliding to the side, some of them had crashed into eachother, leaving remnants of metal dispersed among flashing lights of police and emergency response vehicles. To my right through the thickness of the rain I could see these white obscure spinning objects near me, but the rain was so intense I couldn't see them... . and just as the rain was coming down hard, the clouds met with the hot dry heat and dissapated... and I was shot full force into clear blue skies and a shining sun above me... and the obscure white spinning unidentifiable objects in the rain exploded into full focus... and i was met with the desert with hundreds upon hundreds of white windmills in a sandy field that stretched beyond what my eyes could comprehend.

And that was my first glimpse of corridor into Palm Springs.

I drove into town, which was stunning. Pool parties were happening, house and disco was playing everywhere. I worked 12 hour days and didn't even notice the time going by because I was surrounded by such intense beauty. At night Id drive around town and walk the streets... and go stargazing. It was ... so beautiful.

This city session is about some of those dance tracks played out by the pool those hot desert nights... and driving down the 111 with my windows down and people watching. ..
